“Build for the community, in the community, of the community.”

Creating transformative change in underserved communities through fitness & Health

Our Mission Statement:

Creating a safe extracurricular environment that will further the development and knowledge of youth physical education while providing greater access for community engagement in underserved neighborhoods. Fostering growth through youth/adult sports and bridging the gap within our underserved communities, through positive sustainable teaching practices. The mission is simple, build for the community, in the community, of the community.

Bring fitness, opportunity, and community health home:

Why this gym, why now?

Underserved neighborhoods face disproportionate rates of chronic illness, limited access to safe fitness spaces, and few local jobs. A community-centered gym addresses all three—improving physical and mental health, creating local employment, and becoming a hub for positive activity.

What we envision offering to the community:

Inclusive membership model: tiered pricing, sliding-scale options, pay-what-you-can classes, and family passes so cost is not a barrier.

Evidence-based programming: group fitness, strength training, senior mobility classes, youth sports and after-school self defense programs.

Local hiring and training: recruit staff from the neighborhood, provide paid certification programs, and create career pathways in fitness, wellness coaching, and facility management.

Community ownership and engagement: community based advisory board
